What has changed for the Energy Price Guarantee?
The government has extended the Energy Price Guarantee for another 3 months and promised to support 27 million households across the country.
Energy bills were set to increase from £2,500 pounds to £3,000 per household per year in April. This will now continue at £2,500 until the end of June 2023.
What extra support did the government announce for energy bills?
If you have a prepayment meter, you can expect to see lower energy prices. Previously, those who had a prepayment meter had to pay a little more as it tends to be more expensive to run these meters. This has changed now as prepayment customers are expected to see their energy bills decrease by £45 a year.
What can property owners do to plan for future rising energy prices?
Property owners can deal with future energy price increases by making improvements to properties. For example, insulating properties and adding double glazing can also help to reduce energy bills.
