how to use old furniture in a new home

How to use old furniture in a new home?

If you are a moving into a new home, ideally you would like to have new furniture too, but this can be costly. Fortunately, there are ways you can adapt your old furniture to fit your new home. Here are some tips:

Extend a sofa into a sectional

Instead of buying a new sofa, you can extend your existing sofa by adding an ottoman to create a sectional. This means that you can have a larger sofa while saving money.

Turn an old mattress into a daybed

You can buy a simple bed frame and put it against the wall while reusing an old mattress to make a daybed. You can then add some stylish pillows which will give you a comfortable space which can be used for lounging or as a bed for guests.

Swap dining/bed side tables with friends and family

Instead of buying new or used furniture, you can swap your old furniture with a friend or family member. Make sure that the design and colour of their items fits your home.

Use an old dining table as a desk

If you have a home office, you can use an old dining table as an office desk. If your old dining table was quite small, you can also consider using it as a nightstand.
